Part 1

Definition

Exposition text is an open writing that can produce pros and cons for the author.

Text Structure in Exposition Text

To write exposition text, there are three structures that must be studied and applied in your writing. Among others are:
  • Thesis: This section will contain the issue or problem that will be raised, while in the analytical exposition this section will contain the position, opinion or attitude of the author.
  • Argument: The section that contains the opinions or arguments that the author begins to explain. Both the hortatory exposition and analytical exposition have the same explanation in this section.
  • Reitaration: Reiteration is a conclusion. The hortatory exposition will contain recommendations or suggestions from the author on the problem that is the theme of the writing. While the analytical exposition, this section will contain a re-statement from the author.


Language Structure

In addition to the structure of writing, there are linguistic elements that you need to pay attention to in writing exposition text. Among others are:

  • Using the simple present tense.
  • Many use conjunctions such as because of, so,
therefore, the reason, and others.
  • Contains arguments
  • Many use words that contain cause and effect (cause-effect)..
  • Using vocabulary that is able to arouse the reader's emotions, such as: Amused, concerned, innocent, unreasonable etc.

The Importance of Reading

I personally think that reading is an important activity in our life. Why do I say so?

Firstly, by reading we can get a lot of information about many things in the world such as science, technology, sports, arts and culture.

Secondly, by reading we can get a lot of news and knowledge about something happening in any part of the world which we can see directly.

Thirdly, reading can give us pleasure. When we are tired, we can read books, newspapers or magazines on the entertainment column such as short stories, comedies or quizzes to make us relax.

Fourthly, reading can also take us to other parts of the world. By reading a book about Irian Jaya we may feel that we’re really sitting in the jungles, not at home in our rooms.

Based on the facts above, it is obvious that everyone needs to read books, newspapers, magazines or others to get knowledge, news, information and also entertainment. In other words, we can say reading is truly important in our life.

As we all know, cars create pollution, and cause a lot of road deaths and other accidents.
Firstly, cars, as we all know contribute the most of pollution in the world. Cars emit a deadly gas causes illnesses such as bronchitis, lung cancer, and trigger of asthmA. Some of these illness are so bad that people can die from them.
Secondly, the city is very busy. Pedestrians wander every where and cars commonly hit pedestrians in the city, which causes them to diE. Cars today are our roads biggest killers.
Thirdly, cars are very noisy. If you live in the city, you may find it hard to sleep at night, or concentrate in your homework, and especially talk to someonE.
In conclusion, cars should be banned from the city for the reasons listed.

Biography Text Part 1, 2, 3

  Part 1 Definition A biography is a text written about someone else's life (usually someone famous). An autobiography is a text written about one's own life. General Structure of Biography Text Biography text uses a general structure (generic structure) recount text because it tells events in the past. 1. Orientation  contains an introduction by providing information about who, what, where, and when the event or activity that has occurred in the past. 2.
